I started on my Scottish garb. I have an Irish gown and plaid skirt already but I need an outfit for both days of scottish weekend, right? Actually, I'm just using the scraps of velvet from a clients outfit and some plaid fabric I got at a silent auction for $3.
The above pictures are of the cut fabric. Doesn't the velvet go beautifully with the plaid? It's not a real plaid. It's simply a printed cloth but I don't care. :-) Miss Ginsie loves the skirt/plaid fabric. I'll sew it up tomorrow and post more pictures.
How pretty :) I think the velvet also compliments the pretty puppy as well *smiles*
One day I will quit being a tightwad and cough up the $$$$ for a yard or so of our family tartan and do a partial underskirt in it. For now I just use a scarf and complimenting garb.
Luckily for me, my direct Scottish ancestry never organized. We were pirates and didn't care about those silly clans. Instead, we just went out on to the high seas and gathered loot. So we don't have a tartan....
