Yes, yes, all my west coast friends can laugh all they like right now. It was nothing. But I did feel a very few seconds earthquake and here's the proof:

By the time most of you see it, it will be a big blue square out in the ocean rather than a big red one. So now I've been through Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and Earthquakes! :-D Yeah, yeah, I hear y'all laughing. :-p

Hey cool website!

Growing up in CA I felt 3.+s a lot. And no wonder, as those maps show they're happening all the time! You get kind of blase about it living in CA though...and oddly I have a sort of affection for earthquakes. They're familiar and so not as scary to me as tornadoes or hurricanes.

There was an earthquake? Must not have been very high on the richter scale, since it didn't show up on my news reports. But then I live in one of the more stable areas of CA, with fault lines east and west of the area, but nothing where I can feel it, unless it is a major quake elsewhere.

Now tornadoes scared the shit out of me as a kid. I had nightmares for months after only being in one the summer I spent in Illinois.

It was a 4.2 and about 30 miles off shore from my hotel. So, no, not a big one but it was close enough and big enough to be felt. :-)

Natural "disaters" don't really scare me. People are far scarier than anything mother Earth can produce to me.

People really are scary, but I have honestly been too sheltered to fully comprehend just how scary.
