Is it just me, or does the description not seem to match the photo on that link?

I've had that problem a lot with their website. It's doesn't match but it looks like it might be a recycled jacket from one of the earlier eras. Fur lined jackets were popular in the later half of the 17th c so it might just have been one of those and then taken in .

BTW and slightly off topic - have you looked at the Victoria and Albert muesum website? It's not nearly as awesome as actually visiting the V&A but it's pretty darn cool.

Yeap! And I've even been there are couple of years ago. I loved it! I'm just playing with website while I'm at work and posting things so I'll remember where the heck they are later.

I went (sometime around 04) and it was grand. Speaking of the V&A collections, does your 17th c. dress have pockets? 'Cause you can't be historically accurate without separate pockets! (The V&A has a pattern...)

It will when I finish it. :-) I have pockets with my 18th c underthings and I think I'll just use those. They are this interesting cotton weave that everyone has mistaken for either linen or hemp so I think they are pretty okay.

Not just you--it's definitely not a long sleeved embroidered linen jacket! Oops :)

I totally understand what you mean. I can also envision it in red silk, over a Victorian or Edwardian skirt, too.

And I agree that the description does not match.
