Must. Kill. Dog.

So, I let Ginsie out thinking it's time to go to bed and she'll just go outside quickly because it's raining. No.
Instead, some sort of domestic dispute is going on and Ginsie finds this fascinating. I seriously want to kill the dog. I tried to whistle her in before they got close to the house (I could hear the woman yelling from a block away) but Ginsie refused to listen. She just sat down and watched like this was her own personal soap opera for the next ten minutes, in the rain. The fact that these people could have easily opened the gate and taken her or done something to her because they were angry at her was all I could think about. And yet, she wouldn't come inside. Every time this couple was otu of visual range, I tried to coax her back in but nada. She just looked at me like "Are you crazy? This is better than Survivor, Mom!"
I screamed at her when I got her back in the house. She's hiding beneath the dining room table and she can stay there all night for all I care right now. I'm so mad at her! Why can't she be like a normal dog and actually be fearful of strangers? ugh!!!!!
So, tomorrow, no more free access to the lawn. I'm going to have to put her on the leash until she learns, again, that when I say get in here, I mean get in here NOW!

Date: 2009-10-16 12:43 pm (UTC)If it wasn't heart-wrenching enough to get my parents to lower their voices, I'd have to go in, pick the cat up, and walk to someplace silent and cuddle him - because he would not leave the room otherwise.
My husband and I are looking into getting a small dog sometime in the next few months; fortunately, our house is a lot quieter, and the neighborhood is too (except for the busy main roadway nearby - we're a corner house, but with a nice fenced yard).
