Anyone else have Navy Federal?

This is sort of a "Ummm, yeah, *click*" type situation but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post about it anyway.
I turn my cell phone off at work so it's not uncommon for me to have messages when I turn it back on. Most of the people that call know enough to just call my work number if I don't answer during the day. Today, I got a message claiming to be from Navy Federal Credit Union. The automated voice told me to call up 1 -800-829-0412 and to put in a "message pin" that they gave me. I thought that was odd but whatever.
I called it up, put in the pin it gave, and then the automated voice asked for things like my bank account number. That's when I hung up and called my actual bank right away. They told me they would never leave a message like that (because, what would be the point? They'd either email me or send an alert message on my access account online) and that it was a phishing scam. I figured that's what it was but, still, wanted to make sure.
So, if you happen to have Navy Federal and get a voicemail from them, DO NOT CALL IT. Well you can, just don't give them any info. Based on a quick search it looks like this scam has been going on for a while.
It's probably a good rule of thumb that, no matter who your bank is, only call up the number you KNOW belongs to your bank.
