isabelladangelo: (fabric colors)

I know a couple of people were looking for loose metal sequins the other day (I'll write up about this weekend later. It was a lot of fun!). MJ Trims does have metal sequins for cheap. http://www.mjtrim.com/Catalog/Product/1050850/39952/39952.aspx

They are 8mm and you get 500 of them for about $8. I already got the antique brass ones but they do have gold. (I think [livejournal.com profile] padawansguide was looking for the gold ones?) Anyway, they do have them and they are cheap!

Cool! They are cheap - but not REAL gold/silver like Kass' O's. ;)

The real silver ones (http://www.kreinik.com/kshop/product.php?productid=631&cat=0&page=1) really aren't that bad of a price. It's $3.88 for 29 of them online. The best part is there are a couple of different sizes. :-)

However, there is only silver online :-(. I sort just like the brass color better. :-D

It's a shame the gold aren't possible to find anymore! And it's also good to know they have real silver ones too...

No problem! I knew I had seen them somewhere recently. :-)

Oh, and yes, you need to make that green dress. I think this should match just about right (http://www.bangkokthaisilk.com/servlet/the-283/Dark-Spring-Green-100-pct-/Detail). :-D

Ha - I just spotted that fabric. I got a bug to search for green silk this morning. Do you think the quality of that is nice? It's thai silk - do you think it'd be slubby?

I've gotten mixed results from Thai silk. Sometimes it's absolutely beautiful, slubbless, silk. Other times, it's had more slubs than the stuff at Joanns.

I've bought from the vendor before, off of ebay, and they were pretty good. I think it should be okay since it looks more shantung then dupioni.

The last time I bought spangles I got them from

The last time I bought spangles I got them from <a href=Hedgehog handworks</a> according to the label on the box...they're the same one's used in the embroidery for the Plimoth Plantation.

I found the website and they look rather good too. Thanks! It looks like there are a lot of places online that sell metal spangles.
