Some ideas and things

I've decided I love the look of the pink 18th c gown from the back and sides but not the front. I'm going to take of the shredding trim and just make it a zone front gown. I have enough fabric to just re-do the front. I look better in those anyway. I would like, sometime before next year, to make a cotton gown, to fix the red and white dress, and make a simple shortgown. I could probably do the shortgown in an hour this weekend but the rest will take a bit long and, with Pennsic coming up, probably won't happen for a while.
I didn't cut out the Campi dress last night. (Hehehe...Campi :-D ) That will get done this weekend. Anyone think putting green velvet trim around the bottom of the skirt of that dress is a bad thing? Good thing? No opinion? I've seen some sketches/paintings of similar styles with some sort of skirt decoration a bit above the hem but they typically have trim around the edges of the bodice as well....
I need to sew up one Spanish Surcote as well. I have one cut out, I just never bothered to sew it. And since I specifically made it for Pennsic...I probably should get crackin'!

I might hand sew some of the campi gown but only because handsewing works better for the type of linen I'm using. The Spanish Surcote I cut out is out of this lovely velveteen backed cotton. The velveteen is a paisley print so very not period but that's fine at Pennsic since it doesn't scream MODERN and it was just to see how to cut it out and fit the thing. It's all pinned up and just needs bias tape around the edges after maybe three seams.
