I finally created a design and entered into one of the fabric contests. They have one for fall where you are to scan in actual objects and use that as your design. Simple enough except fall really hasn't hit here yet. Oh yes, the temps have changed and you can just see the leaves starting to yellow but...most of the trees are still green. Very green. But still, I looked. I found a beautiful yellow wildflower, some purple and yellow weeds, all sorts of berries, and a few non-green leaves. I ended up doing a kaleidoscope which you can see the end product here. I think it would make an interesting pillow if nothing else.

I was wandering through the friends' list of a common group (costuming, I think), and have seen a lot of your posts. This fabric is really beautiful! Does it mean that they will actually print it if I, or someone else, orders it, or only if it wins some contest? I agree that it might be lovely for a pillow or shoulder bag or some aspect of a quilt, or maybe the back of a jacket--hmmm, I can think of lots of things to use it for!

Hi and thank you! I didn't think of a shoulder bag. It would be cool for that too, wouldn't it?

I have to order a proof of fabric (which I did) and then I can start to sell it. Spoonflower requires you to buy some amount of your own fabric before you start to sell it just to make sure the colors actually print out the way you want them too. I got a fat quarter of it (I'm thinking another fall apron) and hopefully it will be up and for sale in a couple of weeks.

Good. I can completely see it as the back of a faery coat of some sort, can't you? Please keep me posted about the details, since I'm alittle confused as to whether that means "you can start to sell it" through them and their site or directly through you--thanks!

Cool! Thanks for letting me know. Do you know if there is a time period beyond which it would not be available or similar? I spent all my money this week, but there will be more sometime!

I'm leaving it up and I don't think Spoonflower takes the fabrics down so I'm sure it will be around for a while. :-) I got my sample today and it did come out really well. My two year old nephew loves it at least!

Great! What fabric did you choose? I wonder if the different types print better or worse than each other (well, obviously, they must to some degree!) Did they have any advice for what is likely to print best or worst?
