If you ever have a lot of gift cards/gift certificates again, totally go shopping at the local mall on New Year's Day. There are a TON of awesome sales and no people.
Seriously. I went to Montgomery Mall today because one of my brother's gave me a nice gift card for any Westfield Shopping center. Another brother gave me an AMEX gift card good anywhere so I figured I'd do a little shopping today.
I almost thought the mall was closed given the lack of cars. I got a good parking space, went in, and there was hardly anyone in the mall at all. Outside of the sales people, I saw maybe twenty or so others when I first got in and walked around. There still weren't many people when I left an hour later.
Bath & Body is having their annual sale so I used one gift card there. I also got a new game for the Wii (Castlevania -the one brother I managed to talk to today approved). Hot Topic is having one their 50% off clearance sales so I got a couple of T-shirts and a pair of sock (love their socks!) for $11 total. I also went to Yankee Candle (they know me there) and picked up some car fresheners and a couple of candles since they had their 2 for $25 sale today. I spent about $30 of my own money and the rest was on gift cards.
Now to go play my new game while the black eye peas are still simmering...
