Regency get together, anyone?
Mar. 25th, 2011 08:55 pm"A very special tea will take place at Green Spring Gardens on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 1 to 3 p.m. The Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI) Tea celebrates the National Cherry Blossom Festival and costs just $27 per person.
Our slide show will transport you to Japan to view the fabulous collection of one of the world's leading repositories of haute couture, the Kyoto Costume Institute. Hear about KCI's mission to research three centuries of western fashion and accessories, from the 1750s to present day. With holdings of over 11,000 items - from outerwear to underpinnings - KCI provides cultural exchange through international exhibits, loans and collaborations. Following the program, a full-service traditional English tea will be served in the 1784 Historic House.
Advance purchase is required. Call 703-941-7987 for reservations. Green Spring Gardens is located at 4603 Green Spring Road in Alexandria Va. For more information about this lush garden oasis visit us online."
I know. I originally said bustle but I think everyone has Regency or something psuedo Regency, right? Plus, the house was built in 1784. I haven't gotten my ticket yet and I plan on calling on Monday. Has anyone tried to get their tickets yet?

Date: 2011-03-26 01:21 am (UTC)Regency sounds great - I have no bustle gowns now, but I finally have one regency gown. Or maybe I'll do 1780s since that's like my whole wardrobe? ;-)
