Another sewing update!

Mom's dress is almost done. I carefully unpicked the trim and moved it so that it curves slightly and goes in more towards the waist. It looks much better now. We all got vetoed by the way. Mom saw her dress today and decided she loved the criss cross velvet over the faux embroidery. Oh well. I did give two options...
I finished a lovely Norse outfit today for a competition tomorrow. I cut it out of this gorgeous blue linen and mustard yellow linen I won on ebay a little over a month ago.

I'm going to sew again too!
Date: 2011-06-18 10:54 am (UTC)I got in touch with a lady in the SCA -- Jeraldine. She was listed on the Storvik webpage. We're going to schedule sewing nights. Hopefully other people will also be there.
I can't go to Pennsic this year because I'm defending the thesis in late July/August as soon as my profs come back from their trip presenting research on diseases. I don't know the exact defense date yet.
But I'm going to see if I can get to Bright Hills meetings again, and occasionally I'll drop in on the Blackspear ones too. Next year I'll need to use my tent again. For now, it's completely fine that they use it for a first aid tent. I'm so glad they are holding it for me.
The SCA was a lot of fun, but I had to spend my energy on getting my degree finally. I'm sure you agree with my priorities that way.
