Let me start with what I was doing Friday night...or well...most of friday really. I was sewing. I felt like I was a costume designer before opening night who was trying to get all the seams and details ready for the big act tomorrow. According to most people, I pulled it off. :-) Even cast members were commenting on my gown (which I love since I know some of them know even more about garb than I do!) and a few people (outside our "little" group)even recognized it as the Princess Elizabeth gown. And yes, I ended up in a few pictures...at least.
One of my main projects friday night was finishing up knitting some black mohair trim to add to the silk skirt of my Strawberry outfit. The only picture I know I have of it prior to adding trim is this one:

Yes, that is Miss Ginsie in the picture as well. :-) The colors are very bright and vibrant on the gown. But I wanted to dress it up a bit more. So, I spent most of friday knitting trim and sewing it on in a swirl pattern to the skirt. I finally finished sewing the trim last night. It came out well and makes it look even more Elizabethan. (yes, outside the timeline of the fest but since when was that a problem? :-) ) At any rate, I'll be wearing the gown today.

If anyone has pictures of yesterday that they'd like to share, please do. I'll post my pictures up probably tomorrow. My one problem with yesterday was a very simple one: My leg came out of socket and I had to go home "early" (it was 6 by the time I made it all the way to the front gate). It's still sore but that's why they have the carts, right? :-) So if anyone catches me sitting down, that's why. Yes, I can still walk around and yes, I'm okay, it just takes me more time than I'm use to to get around and that's what really bugs me.

Other than that, I had a great time meeting people, saying hi to old friends, and, of course, shopping! After all, what trip wouldn't be complete without a a stop by the bee folks booth for a jar full of honey sticks? In fact...I think honey sticks would make a fine breakfast.... See y'all in a few hours!

For whatever reason, your photo from photobucket doesn't show up on my screen. Would love to see it, though. I thought your trim turned out very well. I had a lovely time at the faire with you today.

For some reason I didn't get to catch up with you on Sunday. I really wanted to see the 'strawberry' gown.

Maybe another time.

I think I'll copy your theme for 9/11 and do red and blue wench wear.

It you want, I have some extra red white and blue trim that is period. It's a woven trim I got years ago cause it was a buck a yard and who am I to pass that up? :-)

I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up on Sunday either. I missed a lot people but there is always next weekend
