Questions and Random Stuff

First, I sewed today! I made myself a wonderful grey, red, and black plaid skirt out of some rather heavy cotton flannel. I wore it to work today (it took 30 minutes to put together) and got compliments on it. It's just your basic pleat to the waistband skirt but it's warm and comfy which I love.

Second, I discovered that some silk embroidery of mine had a mishap. Some of the silk dye leached on to the white linen. Does anyone know of anything that will get the dye out of the linen but not ruin the silk or the linen in the process? I'm thinking of trying some oxyclean but I really have no idea what to do. It's almost like the embroidery left impressions of itself on the linen rather than creating the normal blobs.

Third, is anyone planning on going to the graveyard picnic at Rock Creek on Sunday? If not, I might head to the Textile Museum instead. They are having a lecture on Ottoman Women's clothing.

I definitely think Oxyclean's a good bet for your embroidery - if it got cat barf out of my silk dress it can do anything! I may be convinced it's magic. ;)
