I did get some sewing done on the stays. I finally found some motivation in the form of a calendar and realizing I won't have a single weekend from now until sometime in October 2012 where I won't either be at an event, on vacation, or sewing for an event that will be coming up the next weekend!

I was planning on going to an SCA event on Jan 28th but -given everything else I want to do- I'm not entirely sure I can make it since it's all the way down in Blacksburg. I keep checking the site and there's no info on any camping or hotels. I keep calculating the costs and although I could do it, it would be roughly $300 (gas, hotel, plus site fee) just for one SCA event!

At any rate, I am at least getting fabric out for various projects. I need to finish my stays for I can make a sack backed jacket. I have this lovely polished cotton with an 18th C repro print on it I bought at Fort Fred a few years ago. It wants to be made into a sack backed jacket so badly. I'll play with the blue damask cotton blend I have first since I won't cry if I ruin that. I still have...umm...30 yards or so? It's the stuff I bought at Pennsic one year for $20.

I found a 2 yard + piece of black silk in my stash that matches perfectly to an Edwardian bodice piece I want to use to make one of the many Edwardian dresses I need to make this upcoming year. It's just enough to make the skirt I want to go with it. Stash win!

I bought a piece of acetate brocade because I couldn't help myself. It's so pretty in person! I think it needs to be a mid 16th C Italian bodiced petticoat. The width is such that I should be able to get two panels for the skirt and decent bodice with maybe a pair of fitted sleeves. We'll see.

Miss Ginsie and Jasper are doing well. Jasper did loose his collar. I have NO idea where. It was on him at 8 am Saturday and gone by 9 am. I tore apart the house but I still can't find it. So, I need to get him a new collar.

I saw da nephews yesterday. Both of them were very happy to see me. The older one wanted to play "rock!" right away (Wii Fit Plus - the obstacle course is know as "rock" thanks to the three year old. He played for a few minutes and then let me play. Aunt Sissy is quite good at the balance games like table tilt. It was hilarious, really. My older nephew grabbed ahold of my jeans leg and would pull when he wanted me to go this way or that. Dad took pictures because the three year old was right there next to me, making the moves he wanted me to make. :-) I did get a "You did it! You won, Aunt Sissy!" at the end. And even a "Yay!" out of the one year old. The one year old decided Aunt Sissy's lap was the most comfortable place to sit since I don't fall over like his little folding chair. :-)

...Jasper is deciding silk thread and measuring tapes are toys to be played with since Miss Ginsie won't play with him. Will write more later...I think.
