1840's and other stuff
Mar. 1st, 2012 10:34 pmI took apart the 1840's dress that had the too small sleeves but was perfect in every other way. There is nothing I can do about the sleeves, but I could take out the lining, take it apart, and make it my pattern for 1840's. So, that's what I did. :-) I'm just having trouble figuring out what color to make the bodice or if I should just make a dress. I have some horrible plaid made in a lab fabric that I had hoped was wool. It's not. Or, at least, it's not 100% wool. It might make a decent 1840's though.
Anyway, the other day I wore my green leather Edwardian looking shoes I got off of ebay. They were a bit tight at first but, by the end of the day, they were very comfortable. I'm really excited that they fit. Now, I can wear those with all the Edwardian events!
I'm still having a lot of fun cooking up and researching Renaissance Lenten practices. It's all over on blogspot - same username, different user channel.
Ginsie needs new garb by the 25th. What should I make the canine queen this time? I'm going to be wearing the gray Spanish surcote with the burgundy Florentine dress I made earlier this year, if that makes any difference.
