So, in my delirium, I've decided that I just have to make a new outfit for this weekend. It doesn't matter I'm only going to be at the SCA event for a few hours, I need a new dress, darn it. I know the material I want to use, I know the trim I want to use, I just can't decide on the cut.
The material is lovely tropical weight gray wool in a twill pattern. The trim has a gray background but is woven with orange and green. I want to make orange linen sleeves to match, eventually, and I have a green apron. The problem is, do I go with the Venetian peasant look (open front, v waistline) or an Elizabethan kirtle (side lacing, sort of a soft u-shaped waistline for the 1560's)? I keep going back and forth!
