sewing progress!

Some additional notes: I designed the pattern myself and I did try the mock up on her. It was a bit big so I cut down the sides. I didn't want to cut it down too much because she needs this for Ireland. She also needs it for regular good ole fall days here on the East Coast so it had to be able to accommodate a sweater, at least.
The coat is made out of laminated cotton with a flannel cotton lining. It is very interesting stuff to work with. It is not easy. However, the coat did get made so all is good. ;-)
The buttons are ones that I saw a Joanns and had to get. There were only four left so there are four on the coat. It doesn't need more than that, really, but I think it would look neat with a couple more if I can find them.
Now, to work on my raincoat and dress! And Mom's jacket...and twenty other projects...
