The second pair of bodies fit! Yay!
After the first stays were way too small, I took an old pattern I drafted years ago that apparently still works a lot better than I thought it would. I sewed these today and I'm really happy with how they came out. No, they aren't perfect but they give the correct look and they are comfortable. Since no one will actually see them with the dress on, I don't care too much about the outward appearance.

Ginsie helped. :-)

Beyond making the stays, I also cut out the entire dress, sleeves, forepart, and undersleeves. Since the fabric is pre beaded, I had to handsew the pink silk to attach it to the rest of the underskirt. Beads and sewing machines do not mix. Ever. I learned that lesson quickly. It's much easier to just straight stitch the fabric to whatever else you are sewing and then put the non-beaded stuff through the machine.
Tomorrow, I'm going to sew up the brown velvet dress and hopefully post pictures of that. It shouldn't take too long since it's all cut out and it's a pattern I've used many times before. I just took a modified version of the McCalls Tudor pattern from years ago. If you draft out the darts and princess seams, it's not a bad pattern.
Right now, I plan on working on the sleeves a bit more and then going to bed. :-)
Oh, and I baked cookies!
