First, random pictures. Yesterday I went to the Storvik Investiture. It really was fun and I hope to get enough time later to right about the "adventure" leaving the Investiture. I enjoyed seeing a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while and I have to say I loved the "medieval cannolis". I ended up wearing my "garb for under $20" black velvet Italian because well...here's the doublet..

The underlining is perfect. It fits beautifully. It's the red satin. I think you can tell by the picture there is a good two inch gap at the waist. I have NO idea how this happened since I used the same pattern for the inner lining as I did the outter red satin.

Anyways, the house. My parents saw it and loved it. Mom adored it. Dad teasingly said he was going to buy it before I could. We went to go see it at 3 rather than 5 'cause of the snow. On the way there we saw at least three accidents on our side of the beltway. It's snow people, just actually do the speed limit for once and you'll be fine.

The above is the holly bush right next to the door. Isn't it gorgeous with the light dusting of snow?

The front yard is completely fenced in which is great because I can just let Miss Ginsie out in the morning and not worry about it.

The kitchen isn't really that dark. The picture came out more red than everything really is. The counter tops are a deep blue, not black.

The kitchen nook for potholders or a telephone or whatever. It's not very deep but I could put some containers there.

The addition. This is going into the addition from the living room/dining room. Again, it's really not that dark at all.

For some reason, I thought the bathroom was tiles with blue and pink flowers. I guess that was at another house I saw that day. It's still very lovely with white/blue/gold marble look. It's just a half bath attached to the addition but that's fine. I think I'll make the addition my sewing/computer/library room.

A wall in the addition. I like the ceiling fan. :-)

Mom and Dad walking out of the addition into the living/dining room area. To give you and idea of everything size wise, Dad is 6'2" and Mom is 5'3". So this place isn't big, but it is perfect for me.

The dining room side of the dining room/living room area. Only one of the walls still has the wood paneling a la 1970's decor which is great. I think I'll keep it and just put a tapestry over it for a neo-Tudor look. Behind the wall is the washer and dryer along with the furnace. It's about normal size for a furnace room.

This is the coat closet in the living room. I just love the doors. The wall adjacent to it hides the carpeted stairs. I double checked; they are carpeted with tan carpeting.

hehehe...it's Pink! Hehehe....

The closet in the guest room. It's not a very big room. I'd guess about 9' x 10'. But that's plenty for a day bed or a futon and a dresser.

The master bedroom. It about 13' x 10' so again, not huge. It does have wood flooring all throughout the house except the addition. The closet is big enough to walk into and then there is the backyard...

The view from the master bedroom. That's the shed I'll get in the backyard. Don't you love the snow? It makes everything prettier.

Random Attic picture. This place defiantly has storage. Can we say Christmas decorations?

The deck and the backyard. Again, not huge but a nice sized deck. I can defiantly find a place to put a couple of chairs on the deck and just sit outside in the summer.

The house. Okay, so it is a townhouse but it's an end unit. And around here...well, there is no way I can afford a four sided house. I think the DC area is in the top 5 most expensive places to live in the USA. New York looks cheaper....

Daddy inspecting a tree in the backyard. Turns out one of the newer trees just planted in the yard is a dogwood. I love flowering trees so this is a good thing.

The last picture is of my baby brother Joey and Shiloh. He didn't want to come see the house because he was "tired". Brat! :-p

Anyways, there was an offered made on the house already but it is contigent on that person selling their own home first. Since I don't have a house to sell, I can make an offer outright. Hopefully they'll accept it 'cause I really want this house! I should know more by the end of the week. Till then, all I can do is bug my realtor and pray!

It's gorgeous! I love it. :-)

What do you know about the immediate neighbors?

Prayers going up ...

That they have an orange cat. :-) Honestly, I don't know much about the neighbors but I do know a lot about the neighborhood. The good thing is that it is a co-op so if I do run into problems, the co-op runs interferance and settles any issues. There are a lot of rules but most of them are common sense and the few that aren't are just beautification rules. Like I can't grow certain plants because they are invasive or I can't paint the house funny colors not found in nature. :-) Oh well, the next house will be bright jamaican bay blue with dayglo pink trim.

Thanks for the extra prayers!

kitties are good :-)

I've never lived where there was a co-op but that sounds like a really good thing.

I want to see the Next House! Sounds just like a proper Victorian Gingerbread to me!

ohhh...Victorian Gingerbread house...okay...so maybe in ten or so years or when I win the lottery I'll get that as a summer home...

The co-op is a pretty good thing. The best way I can think of to describe it is you own "stock" in the community. You don't own the house anymore than you own your office even if you have 500 shares of stock in the business you work for. However, it's your office. You can decorate how you like. (Of course, with a house rather than an office, they are far more receptive to drastic changes like adding oh...turrents to the side of house. One person did that in the co-op when my grandparents were living there and it still looks great. Somehow, I doubt anyone can suddenly put in victorian windows and tiffany glass on the side of a skyscraper. :-) )

Anyways, kitties are good. I might get one when I move if Miss Ginsie approves of a roommate. She really loves cats and thinks she is one half the time. I have yet to get through to her that dogs cannot sleep on peoples heads..... Another good thing about the co-op? They have a dog park.

And yes, everyone always needs extra prayers. :-)

Sort of like an apartment, but not. Condo's down here are rather like that.

If she's a kitty person, and you get a young kitten, you probably won't have much problem. My dad had a *large* black lab that used to want to think she was a Lap Dog .....
