I grabbed [livejournal.com profile] bluedoran and went to the investiture. This was after I woke up at 7:30 and took Miss Ginsie to the vet. She's fine. She just has some silly cough that woke me up at 2:30 am. She has meds and she isn't coughing anymore.

Anyways at Investiture it was COLD outside. It was very very cold. I saw people arrive wearing scrubs and run inside to change into garb. I just wore my black velvet Italian with big sleeves and my nice big warm cape so I was happy except for the stupid wind outside.

Anyways, went inside and saw everybody. (Hi everybody!!!) I mingled at first but I got so tired around 2 that I was just in lala land. It wears off but I just need about 30 minutes to go into a total blah state and then I was fine. I'm sure that some people thought I was rude because I was so out of it.

[livejournal.com profile] bluedoran spoke to Miss Molly about Viking garb. We both went to the merchants that were outside, around the back, and in a little round building. I bought a lot of trim including two pieces of celestial trim, some pretty black and white trim, and some black and aqua trim. I also got a couple of pairs of earrings and a celestial poison ring. I think I'm getting back into my celestial phase...if that's possible. I went through it when I was 11 until I was 16...working at the Air & Space kinda took me out of that phase...

Anyways, I got trim, I ate some of the food (it was good) and left around 3:30 real time, 3:00 SCA time. (After the silent auction. :-) ) Well, around that time, or a bit before, a problem was announced. A tree fell across the road so you can't get back to 5 going left. You had to turn right or end up in the tree. Rather than ask directions from troll, I felt secure in my sense of direction (did I mention I didn't have a map?) and decided to have an adventure.

I like not having directions. I rely on them too heavily without thinking. Sometimes I end up following directions even when they don't make any sense. So, I figured I'd just go in the general direction of Washington DC and hit the beltway eventually. And yes, as [livejournal.com profile] bluedoran will attest to, this idea worked. I took the right out and a few other turns and ended up on route 4 which leads to the beltway.

I went to some friends afterwards but I was so tired (as everyone seemed to be) that I had to leave after a couple of hours. I crashed when I got home. Really. I took off the gown and boots and slept in my chemise. I woke up around 8 or so I think and watched something on tv and then crashed again around 10.
