Coat

The back of the coat.  The coat is at the point where it is wearable.   I really love how the back came out but the front still needs some work.  The sleeves are really huge around the wrist.   I also need to move the buttons over at some point.  Not a big deal and one I can fix later on.

Thanks! I moved the buttons over. It still looks a bit wonky in the front but I think it's the shoulders. I probably should take the sleeves out, recut the front of the armscye, and stick the sleeves back in but that sounds like too much work right now. ;-)

Are you working off a pattern? I love this coat.

I'm using M6800 from McCall's but I'd highly suggest making a mock up of it first. The side panels are *huge* and I had to cut a good 4" off of each side plus an inch in the back before it got close to where it would fit.

Thanks for the pattern # and I will definitely keep the construction notes in mind.

Looking good! Yours turned out more as I was hoping mine would - a nice fitted waist and then a big swingy skirt to the bottom. Alas mine just kind of makes everything looked double sized, including the waist. :( Pattern fail! Kudos to you for making it bow to your wishes ;)

Thank you! If you still have it, taking in the sides a lot (a lot a lot) and then recutting the armscye helped me. The front also ended up being double breasted which the pattern didn't call for but, eh, it worked. You might be able to salvage it yet!

Thanks - I'll see if I feel like tackling it over the holidays :)
