After work, I went back to the hotel, changed, and figured I'd take a nice walk over to the garment district. There is a trim shop there that I wanted to try (Daytona Trimmings) that looked promising online. However, I barely got inside the shop when I was told they were closing. Um, okay? So I miraculously managed to find the trim I was looking for (the center one) and two others that will work well for a couple of different projects.
From left to right; a bobbin lace looking tiny trim - I'm thinking edging to a chemise or a fine bit of lace around a ruff? It's only 5 yards.
The wider bobbin looking lace is 20 yards. It's exactly what I've been looking for to match up with some embroidery to do a lace insertion smock. It was also cheap. :-)
The silver lace was the most expensive but it was too pretty to pass up. It was still only $3.99 a yard and I only got 4 yards of it. Maybe edging on a 16th C Jacket or doublet? Not sure yet.
So, yes, I grabbed these and got out the store by 6:27. I think I got in at 6:20 but still, not bad for just a few minutes. :-)

Date: 2014-08-15 01:49 am (UTC)It looked like they had an awesome selection of trims. The prices were are all perfectly reasonable - as far as the items I looked at. It's just that they REALLY wanted to get out of there and go home. :-) Whatever, I got the trim I've been attempting to find for a while now - the biggest issue I had in finding the trim was the 20 yards part.
