No fest this weekend...
Sep. 30th, 2005 11:54 pmI'm just way too sick to even think about fest this weekend which really makes me upset! I can't drive because of the mix of the sinus infection and the virus. I'm constantly extremely dizzy. I'm slowly feeling better, but I don't want to chance it.
I might, just might, show up come Sunday for a bit. If so, I'll wear my green German gown. Otherwise, well, there is always ummm...well lets see....romance weekend is out cause I have that planned....shakespeare weekend is out so I guess the day before the day of wrong? 'Cause that's it until the end of fest which is highly dissappointing to think about.
So, tomorrow I'm being taken clothing shopping because I need new shoes for work. I have a pair of black boots and I have my renn fest boots, but some how, neither seems to go well with knee length skirts and boardroom jackets (::insert gag here::) I know the whole "suit" thing will last a day and then I can go to my broomstick skirts and flowing tops and be happy "Princess Goth". (Think goth in pink and turquoise. Scary, I know.)
But, either way, I need a nice pair of flats because my old pair...well...they didn't hold up to an SCA event and Potomac Celtic Weekend....it's not a pretty site. I looked at them tonight and threw them away. I really loved them because they were black velvet flats with pretty black floral embroidery....but the edges were coming undone and they were pretty beat up. I've got to learn "church shoes are not for hiking". I swear, I loose more nice shoes that way...
Tomorrow I'm heading to Anthropologie which is fast becoming my favorite store. Think Gypsy Moon clothing with Hot Topic prices. Well, they tend to be a bit more than Hot Topic but very cool clothing...and they have shoes. I also need a burgundy velvet blazer for work just to have one. I have enough black velvet to make one and a matching skirt for a black velvet suit. I also have black wool crepe for a summer suit but it doesn't look like I'll need that any time soon. Unless, during the next couple of months, I somehow end up in Caribbean....which wouldn't be bad.... but the black velvet is far more pratical at this point. Now to figure out a pattern for it.....
