Randomness today

I actually cleaned my room today. This was truly an accomplishment since I hadn't actually seen the small Strawberry Shortcake rug on my floor since up....a year ago? I think.... Yeah, it was BAD. I had all the "clean" clothing on the rug to be put away and...it rarely got put away. maybe a piece or two but never the entire pile until today.

The room is still far from perfect but you can look into the room and not want to run away screaming anymore either. Now to go through all the clothing I just picked up and figure out what is going to be sold, what is going to be made into a quilt 30 years from now (hey, I'm realistic), and what I'm keeping.

I also made a curtain for the kitchen. The curtain I had up was just an old lace curtain that came with the house. It did nothing for the cold or for preventing people looking into the house. The new curtain is actually a very pretty blue print that goes well with the blue countertops I have. It's a very simple curtain but it is a sewing project so yay! I lined it with the twenty gazillion yards of blue damask I still have that I got at Pennsic a couple of years ago. The bolt never ends...I swear.

That old sundress

Here is a picture of the fabric of the old sundress I made ...err...last century. Really. I'm taking it apart and it looks like there is enough fabric to make it into a simple 18th c jacket. It won't have much of a skirt but it will look super cute with a pink linen petticoat this summer. ;-)
