1860 Harper's Ferry Dress

So... I have this red-orange wool lying around. The problem is it's only five yards. I think. By 54". I can probably do some creative pattern cutting but I'm considering another pattern instead of the Simplicity 4510. I'm thinking Simplicity 7212 but I'm worried the waistline is too high for the late 1850's/early 1860's. I'm trying to aim for 1859/1860 given that's the time of the event. The plus side is that I can pretty easily manage to smudge out a pattern from the wool I have. ...Of course, I wouldn't want it out of the wool if I used that pattern. I'd go with a nice cotton print.

Yes, I'm being a pain. Actually, the dress I have upstairs might be good to look at again....
