MD Renn Fest gown plans
Apr. 3rd, 2008 08:21 pmOh yes, I'm planning early. Why? Because this way I won't be doing 20 million things at the last minute. Okay, so I will be anyway but at least I won't have any good excuses.
So, gown plans...
August 23rd & 24th:
Children's Weekend
I typically wear my pink Tudor this weekend and I think I'll stick with that tradition. I'm not sure what other gown to wear this weekend...
August 30th, 31st & September 1st:
Magic Weekend
A new theme! I need something Harry Potterish this weekend. I'm thinking maybe one of the ghosts? Maybe Bellatrix LeStrange? hehehe...my hair like Bellatrix's....
September 6th & 7th:
Irish Celebration
So they are separating the Irish and the Scottish this year? Hmmm...I might go Italian and really confuse people...the blue peacock gown this weekend?
September 13th & 14th:
Scottish Celebration
I'm re doing my purple Scottish outfit. I bought some lovely purple linen to make a new dress. The purple plaid skirt is fine and the purple velvet overcoat still looks lovely but the bodice is just not "me" anymore...it's not period correct and it's not super snazzy. (yes, snazzy is a word) I might also wear the black velvet Tudor this weekend with the red plaid skirt.
September 27th & 28th:
Adventure Weekend - it's a Pirate invasion!
Pirate outfit, duh. Maybe the Dangerous Beauty gown if I get it done and it's warm enough? If not, maybe a "real" 16th c pirate outfit?
October 4th & 5th:
Oktoberfest!
German...hmmm...I have the purple snarky gown that I can redo a bit. (It's really hillarious looking. It's very german in style but it's lavendar with gold and is totally 1960's material) Maybe a new gown for this too? I do have the material to re-make the Mary of Hapsburg gown....
October 11th & 12th
There is nothing planned for this weekend so I'm think Princess Elizabeth gown and maybe an Italian gown?
October 18th & 19th:
Chivalry Weekend
The Ever After Just Breath gown if it's warmish. Another Italian gown, probably the red and gold one with the black velvet overdress.

Date: 2008-04-04 10:50 am (UTC)I wish I had a photo of my current pirate outfit up somewhere. I know there were a ton of people taking pictures of me in it but I have yet to see any of them floating around on the web. It's a full coat done in the 1740's style out of REAL 1718~1719 fabric. The coat was made in the 1940's probably out of an old sack gown. The waist coat is a cream jacquard and the pants are a lovely deep red corduroy with gold buttons.
So...I do, technically, have one 18th century outfit I can wear....:-)
