Monday at the Renn Faire.

I went with Mom on Monday to the Renn Faire which was a ton of fun. She loves Shakespeare Skum so we saw both Henry the V and their version of Romeo and Juliet. I wore the Bellatrix outfit but I've decided I don't like it. It's not that anything exactly is wrong with it; it's just not me. I'm going to sell it up on ebay as a Halloween outfit and see how that goes. If it doesn't sell there, it will probably sit on Etsy for a while.
Anyway, we walked around, saw a few shows, did a lot of shopping, ate a bunch of junk food, and I got my hair done. I'll post pictures of that later today, hopefully.
The one thing I really noticed on Monday was simply the amount of people. There were a lot of families that came out to the faire. It was nice to see so many people but most weren't dressed up. In fact, I think the number of "garbed" people has gone down. Maybe it's just the weather? It was pretty warm (88F, which translates to 118f out on the joust field ;-) ) on Monday and I'm guesing most people have only heavier or "fall" garb.
Hopefully, with the cold front coming through on Thursday, Irish weekend will have a bunch of garbed individuals....actually, with Hanna heading up, this weekend may prove to be very wet and that will force most of the non-regulars not to come out. The rainy days do tend to be the best.
The back of my head. I got my hair braided. :-) and just for
wortschmiedin I can smile, sometimes. I still think I look weird. ;-)
Gorgeous glass sculpture by one of the visiting merchants. If I had $2000 to spare, I would have bought that in a heart beat. It's just so lovely with the way the light hit the wings and the use of color... I just love it.
