An Anne Arundel County Fire official says a couple was bitten by a snake at the Renaissance Festival.

It happened around 6 p.m. Sunday at the Crownsville Fairgrounds near Annapolis.

Firefighters say a woman in her 20s picked up the wild snake and was taunting her boyfriend with it when both of them were bitten.

Cox says paramedics met the couple at the first aid station at the festival and took them to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with minor injuries.

He did not know what kind of snake had bitten the couple.

Honorable Mentions are meant for those that haven't taken themselves out of the gene pool yet but could have easily through their idiotic actions. Taunting your boyfriend with a snake and the snake biting you? If the snake was poisonous and killed you, it's a darwin award. If you live, it's totally an honorable mention.

I find little fault in the boyfriend in this. All he did was pick a stupid girlfriend. She picked up the snake. She taunted him with it. Okay, so he didn't back away enough, clearly, but he wasn't the one flinging around a wild animal that is known for it's bite. ...I wonder if their names are Adam and Eve....
