Do you know how weird it is to walk into my sewing room and not trip? Ginsie doesn't like it because she doesn't have a bundle of mismatched piece of fabric on the floor anymore to curl up on. I guess I need to get to work on finishing her doggy bed and throw that on the floor for her.

Anyway, sewing. I started to put together the stays last night. Like I read -after I cut the pattern out, unfortunately- the front is a bit low. It's not too horrible though (unlike the short stays pattern. Yikes!) but it's something to look out for next time I decide to try this pattern. (I'm using the butterrick pattern since it looks reasonable and is cheap).

I've marked out all the stitching lines on the yellow fabric. I started putting the channels in last night but I need to cut some of the boning to fit the interior channels before I continue much further. As of right now, one front has it's channels and the pieces themselves are sewn together. I've also discovered I have enough black bias tape to probably stretch from the middle of DC to my house out in Greenbelt.....

You'll have to let me know how that pattern turns out... I have it, but I'm not entirely sure I trust it enough to make it instead of drafting one based on Janet Arnold or Sharon Burnston.

I will! I've had a terrible time of drafting my own corsets to fit me so I'm going the safest route this time...which means a pattern.
