Minor dress progress
Feb. 2nd, 2012 10:16 pmI managed to attach the bodice, sew up the back seams so that it looks good and then pleat the skirt and pin it to the bodice. One side looks funny and off balance with the other and I think it's just the way it's pleated. I play with it the morning when it's not 10 o'clock at night so I won't mess it up.
After getting this done, I just need to sew the skirt to the bodice (should take two minutes once it looks correctly pinned), sew up the insides, attach the faux robing thingies, attach the already gathered trim to the faux robing thingies, attach the sleeves, and create a stomacher.
On that note - I'm doing a bunch of bows for the front of the stomacher. Should I pink the fabric I'm making the bows out of (a lovely mauve silk) or should I sew up strips of the silk that have been folded in half to make ribbons? I keep going back and forth on it!
