A couple of months ago, I cut out the lining for a bluish grey velvet Spanish Surcote I bought years ago at an SCA event. The Surcote was nothing more than two pieces of velvet in the front and one in the back. It wasn't lined or finished in any way. In fact, there was a good few inches on the back piece that didn't match with the front. So, I re-fit it, cut the lining, and...it has been sitting for a few months again.
Last night, I re cut out the left side of the lining because I accidentally cut out two right sides originally. Whoops! I then sewed the lining together and managed to get the edges of the lining to match the edges of the velvet. I will finish it tonight and then work on the 1840's dress. :-) Thank goodness in the cleaning of the sewing room, I found the 1840's pattern I made a while ago. It still looks like it fits so I'll use that. :-)
