While in Vegas, I went to the Da Vinci Exhibit. It was pretty good but the entire exhibit focused on his scientific contributions and downplayed his artistic achievements in a way. Above is what is believed to be the "true colors" of the Mona Lisa. I think I might have added all of this in another post but I think that enough people might be interested in the exhibit alone that it needs its own post. Also, just click on the picture above to get to the rest of the set. I have a bunch of pictures of the various recreated inventions such as a tank, a submarine, and a bicycle.

Funny side note, the computer screen in the exhibit was a touch screen....that hadn't turned off any of the administrator controls. I turned everything purple. I did warn them because ummm...yeah. With the stuff I was able to get to, I know some people could do some serious damage to the interactive part of the exhibit.

was it the DaVinci exhibit with all the little wooden working models? We went to one like that in San Jose about 4 years ago, the models were so fun to play with. they had 1 actual painting, and several reproductions of drawings and sculpture as well as the models.

Yes, it was. :-) The guide at the beginning told me "Everything here is a replica so go ahead and take pictures! Use flash!" Unfortunately, my camera's battery was gasping for life towards the end so I didn't take as many as I wanted. Still, I got about 80 or so. ;-)

We have video of our eldest son (2 at the time) turning the handles to make the machines work. The real painting they had was like one with Mary, Jesus and John the Baptist?
