isabelladangeloI'm working on my Christmas dress this week. It will be done by Friday. It needs to be done by Saturday at the latest because I might wear it to the Family Portrait on Sunday. I managed to cut the muslin for the bodice and refit it so I actually have my waiste at the right level. It looks a lot better now. I also managed to cut out the red satin for the skirt and the front bodice before my head demanded sinus medicine. So, I'll finish cutting out the sleeves and the bodice tomorrow.
The skirt is hand drafted. It's a 23" length of red satin done in a simple circle skirt type pattern. I'm going to add some black netting to the bottom and black velvet trim. It won't be a proper 50's dress, but it will have that feel. Like the hollywood costumers, I'm trying to envoke the era. ::ducks::
