I have windows 7 on my desktop.  I am so extremely happy about this.  Windows 8.1 was a travesty.   I didn't realize until today that I couldn't actually "see" my cdrom on windows explorer in 8.1.  The cdrom worked - you could put an autorun disk in it and it was fine- but you couldn't access it.  A big problem when you are trying to switch back to good ole windows 7.     I had to edit the registry data to get the cdrom to show itself.  Fun!   And yet another reason to destroy windows 8 (like anyone needed more excuses!).


I'm reloading all my data- I made backups- but I'm just glad I have a start button and can find my programs without having to scroll through endless tiny icons.  Windows 7 is so lovely.
