isabelladangelo: (Italian Garden)
Alright, so that's not true. I went home, grabbed Miss Ginise, went on a car ride to what was practically Burtonsville (the good "Amish" market place? Near that. Too bad they are only open on Thur-Sat). I picked up 6 good sized pallets. I think they are bigger that 4'x4' but I need to measure them.

Since I was halfway between my house and my parents, I went over to Mom and Dad's. Great Aunt Jenny and her daughter Debbie are visiting so I also wanted to see them.

This morning I did sew one of the straps back on to the Peacock Venetian dress. I also repaired a seam and tried it back on to make sure those straps will stay! They will. I just need to fix the other strap, finish fixing Miss Ginsie's cape, and print up stuffs. I also need to finish the sleeves for my Eleanor dress, and finish sewing the eyelets on Mom's dress. I'm bringing both of those projects with me to Novice. If you don't see me sewing, please tell me to get back to sewing...unless I'm talking to newbies. :-)

I hadn't seen the blackworked jacket before. There are a lot of interesting portraits and extant pieces from the latter half of the 16th c. I also really like the upside down peacock feather embroidered on red.

Your result for The hardcore SCA Test...

King's Advisor

You scored 76% hardcore SCA!

You may just be older than dirt, or a raving lunatic. You are about as involved as you could possibly be in the SCA. When you are at events you probably look like you just stepped out of a book. You're blood runs in kingdom colors, you are probably a peer, and your living room probably looks a lot like your campsite. You should probably get some help for your addiction, or see if someone will write a book about you.

It was the "How many pieces of garb" and the "Hollywood never gets it right" that did me in....
isabelladangelo: (Garb)
Well, I tried to groom Miss Ginsie myself only to find two ticks on her. ::sigh:: I know it's from her little run through the woods a few days ago. I called up the real groomers and she's going tomorrow. If nothing else, she'll have an adorable summer cut come Saturday.

So, I repaired my garb and her garb. We will be properly dressed. I started sewing up the eyelets on Mom's dress. Hopefully, I can finish that tomorrow. Then, it's just my dress. I think I can handle that before August!
