I went to hobby lobby today and bought the fabric I've been wanting for a 1530's Saxon court gown. It's 100% synthetic but look at that pattern! I'm pairing it with a red cotton velvet I have.

The middle trim -what do you think? 18th Century, yea or nay?

Date: 2011-02-16 01:04 am (UTC)The middle trim looks a bit heavy/dense for true 18thC. Fly fringe, which is what I think this is trying to emulate, would be fairly light and airy. Not bad though.
